ESP Max Cavalera Signature

icontexto-webdev-social-bookmark-09tipdrop logofacebook481Max Cavalera is a Brazilian guitarist best known for his work as the frontman of Sepultura and more recently Soulfly.

Unlike many of his contemporaries who alternate between rhythm and lead, Cavalera has always remained staunchly a rhythm guitarist only, leaving the solos to the other guitarists in his various projects. In fact, he removes the two highest strings from his guitar because he never needs them.

Cavalera was known for using a white BC Rich Warlock while a member of Sepultura. This guitar originally had two pickups, but Cavalera removed the neck pickup and went on to use the guitar for recording Sepultura’s iconic 80s and early-90s albums before leaving the band in 1996.

Cavalera has now been given an endorsement deal with ESP.

His signature model is based on ESP’s AX shape, which in turn is heavily based on the BC Rich Warlock shape once favoured by Max.

The ESP Max Cavalera AX is only available in an Urban Camo finish, a black and grey camouflage finish also found on some other ESP guitars. As with most of Max’s guitars there is only one pickup and the bridge is fixed. Here are the full specifications:
